Types of Affiliate Programs and Marketing

By Sara K

For merchants programs help in making money online as they add value to their product and services. marketing is one of the best ways to advertise websites, services or products and by joining marketing programs merchants can make the most of prospective revenues.

There are plenty of programs out there that merchants can join but only the best ones offer paramount services along with added benefits. All merchants have to do is introduce themselves to the program providers and they can start making huge revenues based on the commissions they earn from referral sales or targeted visits. However before joining any program merchants need to review it properly and make sure that the program suits the target audience and their financial requirements.

The best thing about programs is that as a merchant you no longer need to worry about credit card processing, customer services etc. all this is taken care of by the program providers.

There are three basic types of programs, which include: pay per sale, pay per lead and pay per click.

Pay per Sale are generally commission based programs as they pay a prearranged percentage of commission on revenues produced by the sale of products or services to a user who came from your website. At times these programs also offer inducements in the shape of an increased commission or some kind of an additional benefit. Pay per sale programs are commonly two-tier and preferred by merchants due to the high amount of commission. Only the best programs tend to offer marketing world wide, whether it’s US, UK, Europe, Asia or any where else in the world.

A certain number of flat fee programs also function on pay per sale basis. Flat fee programs are comparatively less common than the commission based programs. These programs tend to pay affiliates a predetermined amount per visitor purchase or transaction at the merchant’s website. Users are expected to purchase products before they can qualify for a certain amount of referral commission.

In contrast to the pay per sale program, the Pay per Click program offers a slightly smaller amount for each visitor that is sent to the target website. Payments are based on the number of visitors who click on the target site link from the website. While with Pay-per sale program merchants earn profits for every referral or sale, Pay-per Click offers money for every click. For this program the companies generally offer banners that are put up on the websites

of the referrers, by clicking on which viewers are directed towards the website. In return the websites get publicity and more traffic. For merchants these programs are the most efficient way to earn huge revenues with little efforts.

Pay per lead programs generally offer commission on some kind of a free service or product. Although the commissions are normally lower than those offered by the pay per sale programs however, visitors are not required to buy anything and so there is a larger conversion rate. Commissions are given on the number of referred visitors.

Affiliate programs are one of the more significant ways to earn revenues not only for the company paying the commission but mainly to for the affiliates and customers who send referrals to them. Millions of business owners from all around the world participate in pay per sale referral programs because of the many benefits they offer. Merchants normally tend to receive from a mere 5% up to 50% commission share on the referral’s sales and a monthly commission.

From offshore companies to private sales organizations, agents, brokers, and even all kinds of high risk business owners can join these programs and benefit from them.

Instabill offers a Pay per Sale Program where affiliates can earn up to 50% of commission share along with monthly commission and even get a Lifetime Membership.
