Types of Affiliate Programs and Marketing

There are plenty of programs out there that merchants can join but only the best ones offer paramount services along with added benefits. All merchants have to do is introduce themselves to the program providers and they can start making huge revenues based on the commissions they earn from referral sales or targeted visits. However before joining any program merchants need to review it properly and make sure that the program suits the target audience and their financial requirements.

There are three basic types of programs, which include: pay per sale, pay per lead and pay per click.
Pay per Sale are generally commission based programs as they pay a prearranged percentage of commission on revenues produced by the sale of products or services to a user who came from your website. At times these programs also offer inducements in the shape of an increased commission or some kind of an additional benefit. Pay per sale programs are commonly two-tier and preferred by merchants due to the high amount of commission. Only the best programs tend to offer marketing world wide, whether it’s US, UK, Europe, Asia or any where else in the world.
A certain number of flat fee programs also function on pay per sale basis. Flat fee programs are comparatively less common than the commission based programs. These programs tend to pay affiliates a predetermined amount per visitor purchase or transaction at the merchant’s website. Users are expected to purchase products before they can qualify for a certain amount of referral commission.
In contrast to the pay per sale program, the Pay per Click program offers a slightly smaller amount for each visitor that is sent to the target website. Payments are based on the number of visitors who click on the target site link from the website. While with Pay-per sale program merchants earn profits for every referral or sale, Pay-per Click offers money for every click. For this program the companies generally offer banners that are put up on the websites
